After 20+ years as a Corporate Financial Analyst I elected to direct my skills towards advocating for seniors after I personally experienced a family member's medical emergency that prompted a need for senior long-term care (LTC).
In an effort to understand the LTC Medicaid process and options to preserve assets prior to qualifying for Medicaid, I began researching Pennsylvania’s LTC Medicaid regulations and quickly learned that there is a considerable amount of misleading, incorrect, old and contradictory information both online and provided by industry professionals.
It was at this point the need for full disclosure advocacy, when planning for long term care, became apparent. I focused my efforts on analyzing LTC Medicaid from inside the industry in order to understand how the people, process and product works from the ground floor up.
Since 2014 I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many nursing facilities, Eder Law Attorneys and multiple County Assistance Offices, as well as The PA Office of Long Term Living and Income Maintenance in Harrisburg, in an effort to analyze the process and understand the basis behind the regulations and qualifying factors when applying for LTC Medicaid.
Having represented numerous facilities, professionals and families with MA planning and application services has provided a unique perspective in understanding how each area evaluates and represents the applicant during the Medicaid process. This insight was instrumental in establishing my advocacy service, LTC MA Solutions, LLC in 2017, to ensure that the client is represented in their best interest and in accordance with LTC MA regulations.
